Bioshock blamed for latest fashion craze

April 11, 2008

London yesterday

Film and television has long influenced popular fashion and it seems now games are getting their time in the spotlight.  Since the games release late last year sales of full size diving suits have been climbing steadily and now popular fashion magazines such as Vogue are starting to take notice.

“Fashion isn’t about practicality it’s about looking great.” Vogue deputy fashion editor Pippa Barnes-Clark-Wallace told DPoT yesterday.  “So what if it takes me three hours to travel two tube stops to work everyone notices me and that’s what matters.”

The diving suits were first shown at Milan fashion week with later appearances in London and Paris as the media circus surrounding them grew.  Some high end boutiques have reported people camping out for up to three days before stock were due to arrive in order to secure an outfit.  Rumours have been circulating that Primark are working on their own suit expected to retail at a bargain £29.99 but when approached by DPoT they refused to comment.

Mario and Sonic At Odds

The future of joint Mario and Sonic ventures has been thrown into jeopardy following a spectacular public falling out in a Tokyo hotel bar.

Eyewitnesses claim the brawl started following an off the cuff remark from the Italian plumber regarding his blue companions excessive drinking over recent days. The atmosphere in the bar quickly turned frosty when Sonic was heard to mumble something about his companion’s similar love of hallucinogenic fungi.

The brawl quickly escalated and fellow revellers including a large brown gorilla and small green dinosaur attempted to pull them apart. Eyewitness’s also clam a small fox was unhelpfully hovering over the brawl using is tail as a rotor but this has yet to be confirmed.

After several minutes of confusion Mario was eventually removed from the bar but not before he was heard to shout that he “Had friends who could make people disappear.” And if Sonic was not careful he may end up “in a motorway bridge.”

Over recent days many stories had emerged with paparazzi pictures appearing to show long time companion of Mario, Princess Peach emerging from Sonic’s apartment only then to venture to a nearby twenty four hour pharmacy to purchase what was rumoured to be the morning after pill. The pair maintains publicly that their relationship is purely platonic.

Rumours that Mario will this week enter rehab for drug addiction remain unconfirmed.

Gran Turismo 5 V PGR 4

February 8, 2008

With their lead in the console war shrinking and some major PS3 releases on the horizon news is leaking that Microsoft have felt the need to up their game in the UK in an attempt to increase flagging sales.

Sony scored a major victory late last year by securing the rights to include elements from the hit BBC 2 TV show Top Gear in the massively anticipated racer Gran Turismo 5. The deal will see the game featuring the shows test track and cult favourite racing driver known only as ‘The Stig’.

Not to be out done Microsoft have today announced the imminent release of additional downloadable content for Project Gotham Racing 4 which was released late last year on Xbox 360 to much critical acclaim.

The content will focus on the motorcycle racing elements of the game and feature the Untied Kingdom’s second most popular helmeted star the long suffering mouth herpes carrying female social outcast from the Zovirax TV commercials.

Here at Deadpixelsontoast towers we are keeping our fingers crossed for some additional tracks enabling us to recreate everyone’s favourite morning commute and lunch time trip to the local pool.

Let’s just hope victory kisses are not included.
